BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PIPELINE
This initiative will allow youth to make more informed choices about their education and career goals.
Behavioral Health Pipeline
The SWLA Behavioral Health Pipeline is funded by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation of Louisiana in partnership with Imperial Calcasieu Human Services Authority and the McNeese Foundation. This grant funded program supports practicum and internship students enrolled in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at McNeese State University.
This collaboration provides students with paid practicum and internship placements and provides stipends to the supervising behavioral health providers at partnering agencies in SWLA. The SWLA BHP also provides youth education on available careers in behavioral health, emphasizing key differences between types of behavioral health professionals and the educational pipeline to entering the behavioral health workforce. This initiative will allow youth to make more informed choices about their education and career goals.
