Help Families Helping Families of SWLA celebrate Disability Pride Month by sharing your story!
Disability Pride Month, celebrated every July, is a time to honor and recognize the achievements, resilience, and diversity of the disability community. It is a month of celebration, advocacy, and education, designed to promote awareness and inclusion while challenging societal perceptions about disabilities. During this month, we acknowledge the contributions of individuals with disabilities and emphasize the importance of equal rights and opportunities for all.
Share Your Story for Disability Pride!
Disability pride has been described as accepting and honoring each person’s uniqueness and seeing it as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity! Throughout the month of July we will share what disability pride means to our community, tips and tricks for accepting your disability, and other resources.
If you are an individual with a disability or the family member of a person with a disability, Families Helping Families of Southwest Louisiana would like to hear YOUR STORY!
